Mercury Mountaineer recall

Upon Ford's realization that it could well earn profit by selling a value and
luxury-laden SUV in the personage of Mercury, the Mountaineer was created in 1997.
Like the rest of the Mercurys, Mountaineer was restyled, repackaged, and refined.
Since then the Mercury Mountaineer has been a modest success in the automotive
industry. Virtually identical with the Ford Explorer, as it shares its platform
with it, Mercury Mountaineer presents a large interior as its primary ace for
a pleasurable ride. It could seat seven passengers comfortably without getting
restless of the worries on where to place their cargoes.
Mercury Mountaineer is offered as a four-door SUV in three trim levels, the Convenience, Luxury,
and Premium. Each has its own class of luxurious amenities. Two engine types support
the vehicle, a standard V6 which stands more usable for most families, and the
optional V8 which is more apt for higher altitudes. Passenger's safety is not
at all compromised as Mercury Mountaineer comes equipped with the best possible
safety features. In government crash tests, the Mountaineer received a four-star
rating for the driver and a perfect five-star rating for the front passenger.
A sense of quality is spelled out from the very exterior features down to the
interior amenities. Furthermore, Mercury Mountaineer is more softly tuned than
that of the Explorer. It is designed to spend more quality time on the pavement
and surpass the toughest off-road trials ahead.
